Hessel de Boer is a painter from The Haque and followed the Royal Academy of Art in that same city near the Northsea. He painted figure representations, portraits, vegetable and fruit still lifes. He was a member of the Pulchri Studio, the Haagsche Kunstkring and winner of the Willink van Collen Prize. He painted the surroundings of The Haque and was known for his skies.
