Frans Ruwel followed the Artibus Academy with Henk Bellaard and became a drawing teacher at the famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Frans Ruwel drew and painted landscapes and cityscapes in a beautiful impressionist style. He made many outdoor studies and painted still lifes in his studio together with Bellaard. Frans Ruwel was accidentally forced to take early retirement. You will find work by Ruwel in many national and international collections. We like this painting because it gives us a holiday feeling. The bright colours provide a fantastic view of a harbour that will inspire you as well.
