Biography
Franciscus Adrianus Hollaardt
Franciscus Adrianus Hollaardt (Rotterdam 1916-1993 Scheveningen) lived and worked in Soest and from 1951 in The Hague. He was a student at the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague.
He often first made a rough design, after which he added accents with pencil and then filled in his works with waterproof ink. In addition to drawings, gouaches and watercolors, he also made several oil paintings. He combines his artistic mastery with an almost Cobra-like spontaneity. He had his own style in which the special atmosphere of the 1950s is recognizable. His work is in the Centraal Museum Utrecht and the Art Museum. A number of Hollaardt's drawings are also included in the National Collection.
