Pomegranate and Melon (soup) from Helmantel

Granaatappel en Meloen(soep) van Helmantel - Lyklema Fine Art

Helmantel makes beautiful still lifes and it is difficult to choose which one you want to hang on your wall in real life. Like photos, but with atmosphere. Lifelike but oh so artistic. Henk Helmantel (1945) was born and raised in Westerem (Groningen). He is the middle of five children and grew up as the child of a couple who had their own nursery. Helmantel trained as a painter at the Minerva Academy in Groningen from 1961 to 1965.

Henk Helmantel is now one of the most famous living Dutch painters and has won great prizes and many glicees as a result. Original paintings change hands for several tens of thousands. He feels strongly connected to the tradition of more than 500 years of Western European painting. Helmantel is generally regarded as a fine painter. In addition to still lifes, he paints many interiors.
