Biography Robert Scheffer
Scheffer (Vienna 1859 - Vienna 1934) was trained by the painters Griepenkerk, Wurzinger, Leopold Müller and Ferdinand Keller at The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and Karlsruhe. His works are among others to be found in the collection of the Municipal Museum in Vienna. From 1905 to 1918, he exhibited regularly at the Vienna Künstlerhaus. His most popular paintings were on the theme, "Young Woman in a Biedermeier Interior", of which there are numerous variations. He was a board member of the Albrecht Dürer Association and had his own art school.
