Biography Gerardus Johannes Jacobus van Vliet
Ger van Vliet (Amsterdam 1880 - 1972) lived and worked in Amsterdam as a painter, draftsman and watercolourist. He was a student at the Rijksnormaalschool (1900-1902) and later at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. He was taught by August Allebé, August, Jan Derk Huibers, and Wilhelmus Molkenboer, among others. He painted and drew landscapes and cityscapes, and taught Bertha Müller, among others. Gerard was a member of 'Arti en Amicitiae' and 'St. Lucas' in Amsterdam, by the Rembrandt Society and the Netherlands Artists Society.
